Departments

The Department of Logistics Management is subordinate to the first-level discipline of management science and engineering. Founded in 2004, it started to enroll the first batch of undergraduates in logistics management in the same year. It is among the pioneers to have the undergraduate major in logistics management in China. Since its establishment, the department has been qualified to enroll students for master's degree in military logistics support (military logistics) and began to enroll students for academic master's degree in logistics management in 2013.

At present, the department has 16 full-time teachers, 2 professors, 7 associate professors and 7 lecturers. Senior foreign scholars are also employed as visiting professors. The faculty focus on the research areas of logistics and supply chain management, logistics system planning, optimization model, logistics strategy and industrial policy, international logistics, agricultural product logistics, etc. Teachers of our department undertake many national, provincial and ministerial research projects and many company-funded projects. Committed to serving social and economic development, the department has worked with Changchun Logistics Industry Office and Changchun Logistics Association to train senior logistics management personnel for Jilin province and completed the province's 13th Five-Year Plan for the development of the logistics industry, providing high-quality consultation for companies and governments for the steady development of the logistics industry in the region.

About teaching, the Supply Chain Management compiled by the department was selected into the “12th Five-Year Plan” teaching materials for general higher education. The course of “Supply Chain Management” was selected as a provincial-level excellent course in 2014. The teaching team of logistics management was awarded team of excellent teaching in Jilin Province in 2016.

The department's logistics management experimental teaching center was awarded as the key experimental teaching demonstration of Jilin Province in 2011. The center consists of six supporting functional laboratories, i.e., logistics training laboratory, e-commerce laboratory, accounting comprehensive exercise laboratory, ERP sand table simulation laboratory, logistics scheme comprehensive design laboratory and agricultural product logistics simulation practice area, which provide good conditions for the students to practice, innovate and improve employability.
