Outstanding Graduate Students from the School of Management shared experience on the academic exchange

In order to help 2019 new doctoral and master degree candidates better plan their academic life and scientific research, an academic exchange with outstanding graduate students from the School of Management was held at B515 Room of the Yifu Building on 16 November. Hu Yufan, Xu Hailing and Li Chunxuan with outstanding performance in scientific research and academic competitions were invited to share their experience. The venue was packed with audience. 

Hu Yufan was the first to share her experience of participating in the Sixth China MPAcc Student Case Study Competition. She gave a general overview of the competition and summarized how to write a case through analysis framework establishment and case material collection. she also emphasized the importance of conflict mediation and effective communication in a team. It was an insightful guidance for students who will participate next year.

Xu Hailing was the second to share her experience and skills in writing academic papers. With experience gained from scientific research projects and published papers, she explained in details on how to choose a thesis topic, put forward a hypothesis, select methods, develop a plan, collect data and analyze results. She highlighted the close connection required between thesis topics and current affairs, and skills of writing literature reviews.

Last, Li Chunxuan shared her scientific research experience with the audience. She presented her mistakes and difficulties in thesis writing in a modest and humorous way, not only helping students avoid same mistakes, but also providing guidance towards efficient academic researches.

During the Q&A session, the audience raised many questions, which were all answered by the three with patience. The exchange ended in a lively atmosphere.

The event helps students better plan their academic life and scientific researches. The audience spoke highly of the event. It enhances communication and exchanges between the new candidates of 2019 and excellent students of our School and thus helps create a healthy academic atmosphere. It also shows care and support from the School, which will help students better adapt to their doctoral and master programs.
