The Research Center for Innovation Management, formerly known as “Research Center for Technical Economy and Management”, was founded in April 2002. As a key research base owned by JLU, the Research Center stands on the basis of the discipline of technical economic and management, combines scientific research with teaching, and closely integrates itself with social practices. It has made prominent achievements in scientific research, talent development, academic exchanges, social services and policy advisory, and played positive roles in developing and lifting the position of the discipline of technical economic and management of JLU. Since May 2009, under the leadership of heads of the Research Center, it was proposed to rename it “Research Center for Innovation Management”, based on in-depth surveys and numerous discussions, which may break the framework of the discipline of technical economy and management, pursue further development with a broader academic outlook, and prepare for applying for the status as a Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education. Therefore, the Research Center was officially renamed “Research Center for Innovation Management” in January 2010.
