Time stops for no one, and the seasons keep changing. The School of Management of Jilin University was founded more than sixty years ago, and has stayed true to its spiritual attribute and development philosophy of “Humanity, Harmony, Truth, and Innovation” ever since. It has made remarkable achievements in many respects, including personnel training, scientific research, and social services; cultivated a large group of academic and practical talents for economic and social development on the national and local levels; and delivered a multitude of significant academic results.

The School’s fine tradition has been carried down over the generations. With the wisdom and spirit of the elder generation of management elites, and the exploration and innovation of the younger ones, the School is now able to boast a sound and distinctive discipline structure that delivers solid education at various educational levels and a large and balanced teaching faculty who have made great scientific achievements. The School has embarked on a new journey and calls for new development in the new era. Under the new circumstances of full opening-up, and against the backdrop of “Double First-Class” construction, the School shall build new competitive disciplines while consolidating its original predominant disciplines, with a particular focus on increasing the scale and scope of opening-up, building a wider research and education platform, and actively expanding cooperation and exchanges with top universities, research institutions and enterprises from home and abroad; go deep into frontline practice and stay close to promising frontiers so as to broaden horizons, draw on useful resources, and facilitate teaching and research practices in return; give full play to its function as a high-level think tank in decision-making consulting and management practice, just as what being a “Double First-Class” university entails; spread the thinking and voice of the School in cutting-edge areas of open economy and management innovation; continue to train management elites with a global mindset, international perspective, and strong historical responsibility.

The world moves on in a never-ending process of the new replacing the old. We look forward to sharing experience and building in-depth collaboration with our colleagues interested in management education and scientific research at home and abroad. We also expect to see more teachers, students, and alumni join us and take on the responsibility of building the School into a nationally first-class and internationally renowned management school. Let’s remain true to our original aspiration and forge ahead with a shared dream!
