Departments

The Department of International Business is among the time-honored departments in the School of Management of Jilin University. The undergraduate major of industrial and foreign trade was founded in 1985 and designated by the State Council in 1988 as the training base for talents in the import and export of mechanical and electrical products. At the beginning of its establishment, teachers of the department edited and published a series of teaching materials for specialized courses, making ground-breaking contributions to the development of the major of international business management in China. In 1997, the department was eligible to grant master’s degree and doctor’s degree in business administration. Foreign language proficiency has always been a focus for the major of industrial foreign trade. During 1990-2000, thanks to the cooperation of the Department of Industrial Foreign Trade with the US-China Education Service Agency, the agency sent three foreign teachers for a six-month business English course for the undergraduates every year.
