Profile of the speaker: Su Xinning, Professor of School of Information Management, Nanjing University. Su is a Distinguished Professor of Yangtze River Scholar Program of the Ministry of Education, primary expect of key projects of National Social Science Fund, and is entitled to the special government allowances of the State Council. Professor Su is head of the Department of Information Management of Nanjing University and also presides over the discipline of information science, which is a key discipline at the national level. He serves as the President of Information Technology Research and Development Institute of Nanjing University, member of the Academic Committee of Information Resource Research Center of Wuhan University, part-time professor at Renmin University of China, Central South University, Nanjing Agricultural University, and Nanjing Tech University, member of Information Technology Committee of the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information, vice-president of Jiangsu Information Society and Jiangsu Science and Technology Journals Society, and editorial committee member of many journals, including Journal of the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information, Journal of Data and Information Science, New Technology of Library and Information Service. Su Xinning has published more than 100 papers in academic journals at home and abroad and more than 20 books, completed more than 30 science research projects of National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program), National Natural Science Fund, National Social Science Fund and provincial-level programs. He created the first social science citation index in China--Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI).
